So we thought we had a late check out from our house in Hobart today so I was trying to get a load washed and dried (given the need to hand wash back here in Launceston) but didn't want to start till after the swimmers finished swimming. However, I thought I'd better just double check at the office and then found out we didn't have a late check out. So I quickly got the load washed but had to take it wet back to Launceston (but it still dried back here after 3 pm πŸ˜€)

Anyway, we drove home via Richmond. Such a pretty town! We visited the miniature early historical Hobart city replica which was really nice. Lucas got a sticker as a reward for finding all the things that they suggest you search for, and he politely said 'thank you'.  The man remarked that it was the first child who had said 'thank you' to him today... I was so glad that Lucas had remembered to without prompting as it doesn't always happen!

We checked out a few other places in Richmond and also had some lunch in the park. We also realised that we'd left Kyla's special doll that Grandma had given her as an early birthday present (and lovingly crocheted some beautiful clothes for it) back in our unit. I called them and they said that they'd find it and would send it via express post to Launceston (and charge our credit card for it πŸ˜€). Phew! Here's hoping it makes it to Launceston soon.

We also checked out a lovely old Roman Catholic church and Lucas was excited to find a hymn that he knew in the song book ... Rejoice the Lord is King... And he proceeded to sing it very loudly, completely unperturbed by other visitors in the church. Love that boy!

We drove straight to Launceston after Richmond and arrived there a couple of hours later at about 3pm. We enjoyed a swim in the dam and even I braved the water (after some substantial badgering from the younger kids πŸ˜€).
We're very thankful for a lovely time in Hobart and surrounds!
