Last day

We spent our last morning in Tasmania cleaning and packing. Andrew took the the youngest to go and wash and dry two large loads of washing at the laundromat. Shiana and I stayed home and packed and cleaned. We had some lunch at home (finishing up some leftovers) and then headed to Dad and Mum's for Kyla to sleep. While she slept the rest of us went to the Launceston entertainment complex for some trampolining, laser tagging and other fun... Then we went back to Dad and Mum's for a delicious roast dinner with Suzanna and the kids as well. Dad and Mum hope to be at the airport tomorrow morning, but Suzanna and the kids can't... So we said our goodbyes to them. Poor Lucas had to go sit in the car to hide the fact that he had big tears in his eyes. He especially enjoyed his time playing with his cousin Lachlan which was really special. More goodbyes tomorrow... He's not going to like that... But then, neither do any of us. Goodbyes are never nice, but w...

We spent a wonderful day at St Helens with Gerald and Rosita at their shack. Everyone had lots of fun on the boat, jetski and biscuits. Great company and lots of laughs. We finished the day with a yummy BBQ of freshly caught blue eyed trevalla and crayfish. Yum!!! Making our two hour to back to Launceston right now. Will be a late night for some little people, but we're very thankful for the fun day!

After the customary washing and organising, we headed to Dad and Mum's and then headed to a store, where Suzanna and the kids met us. From there we travelled the short distance to Lillydale where we took the short walk to the falls. Then we drove back to Hollybank and checked out this cool property with lots of homemade, cool and original garden ornaments... In Hollybank we had a picnic lunch, relaxed and went for a walk. A lovely spot with even better company πŸ˜€

Ashlyn and Lucas and Lachlan really wanted to go back to the swimming pool today, but we first decided to attend a couple of hours in City Park and have a picnic lunch there too. It was a lovely day for that. Poor Kyla managed to fall and do a face plant, consequently ending up with a scraped nose..  Then I dropped them off at the swimming pool while Shiana and I dropped Kyla off for a sleep at Dad Mum's. Once she was asleep, Shiana and I headed out for a spot of shopping. Shiana bought quite a few bargains before we went back to pick up the swimmers. After that we headed to Riverside motel for a meal with Dad and Mum age Suzanna and the kids. $16 mains are a bit hard to resist πŸ˜€

This morning we went to Legana church. Stephen 'tHart was preaching there and he was there with his whole family (excepting Mim) and uncle Len as well. So we chatted to them and others after church including Rita's brother and his lovely wife. We nice chatting to different people. Between church services we went to Dad and Mum's for coffee and a delicious lunch. .... And for some necessary shut eye πŸ˜€ As they don't have crΓ¨che in the afternoons in Launceston, Andrew stayed home with Kyla in the afternoon, and Dad and Mum jumped in the car with me to go to church. We had another wonderful sermon from Pastor Wes and I chatted with a few people after church. The Pots were also there as were Richard and Lyn and family.

F After checking out Gerald's shop, we headed to Dad and Mum's to drop Ashlyn and Lucas off because they didn't feel like going for a long drive, and Grandma took them on the bus to town and to Banjos for lunch. Then shiana, Andrew, Kyla and I headed off for a drive. We started out checking out the Notley Fern Gorge. We interesting taking a 2 year old around the fairly-steep-at-times teach, but we managed with Andrew carrying her for a lot of the way. Then we headed over the Batman Bridge and into Georgetown. From Georgetown we headed to Low Head and checked out the lighthouse. We spotted since Fairy Penguins hiding too. Can't believe all the cool animals we've spotted in the wild in Tasmania: wombats, a platypus, echidnas, penguins, and deer. After a quick bit of shopping when we arrived back in Launceston, we went back to Dad and Mum's before going home to Pig Mountain πŸ˜€

Trekking close to home

As I looked out the window early this morning before breakfast I suddenly noticed a deer. Can you spot it? You may have to zoom in... The photo is from my phone. I took a much better one on my camera. Andrew and Shiana have seen a few deer as they walk about the property, but it's the first one I've seen and the only one to come right near the house. We spent a good part of the morning at Dad and Mum's giving their hedge a big trim and cleanup. Andrew and Dad and Shiana and I worked hard on it, while Ashlyn amused Kyla, and Mum did some housework  in between listening to Lucas jibbering, and watching him flit to and fro about the house doing his thing. Then we picked up Lachlan (Suzanna's son, about Ashlyn's age) and headed to the aquatic centre. It's a pretty cool setup! Kyla, however, only cried and had no interest at all in swimming, so after a picnic lunch, I brought her to Dad and Mum's for a sleep and then Dad came with me to the pool...
